Art

As mentioned in the 'Biography' section of my website, because much of my life was spent in rather remote areas in Africa that did not have the benefit of Art Colleges, I turned to nature and books to teach myself drawing, painting, calligraphy and photography.

With the many commitments I've had in the last few years, I haven't had the opportunity to do calligraphy, sketch or paint very much. I've missed it, and now try to divide my working time between painting, calligraphy and writing – but I obviously need to re-prioritize this, depending on whether I have an exhibition or deadline to meet.

From still life to wild animals, I find life inspiring, and enjoy capturing it with pastels, watercolours, acrylic, oil colours, clay, wood – or whatever seems best at the time...
